Meggan is originally from Port Elizabeth, South Africa. She completed her law degree at the Nelson Mandela University in 2013 and from thereon practiced as a lawyer in South Africa for four years in a reputable law firm, receiving valuable exposure to a variety of commercial and litigious matters.
Meggan immigrated to New Zealand in 2017 and joined McVeagh Fleming in 2018 as a legal assistant for the Auckland City office’s Litigation Team. While in this role, Meggan completed the conversion of her legal qualifications.
Meggan was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2021 and practices in the Litigation Team of the Auckland City office, working closely with the team's Partners, Craig Andrews and John Burley. Meggan has a special interest in contract interpretation, corporate structures and disputes, commercial and intellectual property disputes, and corporate insolvency.
Outside of the office, Meggan enjoys hiking, running, cooking, reading history books, and exploring New Zealand.
