About

I work with clients in three areas:

  1. Family Law – advice and representation in all areas of family law including relationship property (helping people to protect their assets at the start of a relationship or to divide their assets at the end), trust disputes, estate disputes, care of children, protection of personal property rights, and domestic violence.  I am also a qualified Collaborative Law Practitioner.
  2. Mediation – accredited member of the New Zealand Law Society (NZLS) panel of mediators as a family law specialist.  I am available to mediate any type of family law dispute - care of children, relationship property, estate disputes, etc.  I am also an approved Family Dispute Resolution (RDR) mediator.
  3. Criminal and Traffic Matters – advice on what to do at any stage of criminal proceedings from providing a statement through to sentencing and work licences.

I try to remove as much stress as possible by offering clear, pragmatic advice based on my experience to get the best outcomes for clients.

If you choose to work with me I’ll give you direct, positive advice about what you should do and the reasons why.  My strong grasp of legal principles and commitment to staying up-to-date mean you will get good advice from the outset, increasing your chances of an early result that you are happy with, or can live with.

If you want to work with a lawyer who will look to remove your stress by unravelling the issues, breaking them down and resolving them, then I can help. Clients say I take ‘prompt action’ and that my advice is ‘clear and thorough’.

Examples of Transactions

Examples of how I can help include:

  • Unravelling complex relationship property matters.
  • Helping people get reacquainted with their children.
  • Helping parties reach a mediated agreement to family law issues.
  • Helping families work through arguments regarding a deceased loved one's estate.
  • Helping people wrongly accused clear their names.
