About

Ashleigh works across both our Auckland and Manukau offices. She is a skilled advocate with a broad litigation practice and has appeared in the District Court, High Court, and in arbitrations and mediations.

Ashleigh primarily handles building and construction, and property disputes, regularly representing homeowners, developers, and builders in claims involving defective building work, contractual disputes, and claims against real estate agents. However, she has significant experience in insurance litigation, having previously acted for professionals such as solicitors and engineers.

Ashleigh now acts against insurers, including in coverage disputes and denial of liability claims, and also represents licensed immigration advisers. Her practice also extends to intellectual property disputes, defamation, and matters under the Harmful Digital Communications Act.

Ashleigh regularly presents seminars on legal issues affecting the property and construction sectors, most recently for NAI Harcourts.

She is the Treasurer of the South Auckland Branch of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and an active member of Te Hunga Rōia Māori o Aotearoa (the Māori Law Society). Her article, The Intertwining of Tikanga into Aotearoa’s Common Law, reflects her interest in the evolving relationship between tikanga Māori and New Zealand’s legal system.

Ashleigh is also admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria and has appeared in both the Federal Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Victoria.
