The STEP Excellence Awards recognise the highest-achieving candidates across STEP qualifications globally, celebrating exceptional achievement and professional excellence. The awards recognise top-performing students who have achieved distinction-level results and represent some of the profession's most accomplished practitioners worldwide.
Mario's recognition places him among a select group of practitioners from around the world to receive this honour.
With almost nine years of post-qualification experience, Mario specialises in private client law, advising a diverse range of clients, from families and individuals through to high-net-worth clients. His focus is on providing practical, understandable advice that helps clients navigate often complex legal issues.
Reflecting on the achievement, Mario said he was "really proud" to be recognised and credited much of his success to the depth of learning gained through the STEP qualification process.
"I learned so much over the course of researching for my essays, even though I considered myself quite competent in those areas. I have consistently applied the things I learned to my day-to-day work."
Mario completed STEP's Essay Route, choosing the qualification because of STEP's strong international reputation. He found the programme both manageable and rewarding, noting that the research process regularly uncovered new and valuable insights that have enhanced his professional practice.
The knowledge gained through the qualification continues to benefit his clients today.
"I consistently use and apply the things I learned during my research with clients. Really delving deep into those questions allows you to better deliver the solutions a client wants."
