About

Sean Brogan is a Special Counsel in McVeagh Fleming's Corporate and Commercial team.

Sean is an experienced technology and intellectual property lawyer who advises a range of New Zealand businesses, from early-stage start-ups through to listed entities. He specialises in technology and IP-focused transactions, as well as intellectual property commercialisation and strategy, alongside broad corporate and commercial advisory work.

Sean has a particular interest in understanding how his clients' businesses operate and what drives their growth. His background includes founding a business and serving as a non-executive director, which informs his practical and commercially grounded approach to legal advice.

He advises on a wide range of matters, including commercial contracts, business transactions, governance and shareholder matters, and technology-related agreements. His experience also spans privacy and data protection, software and licensing arrangements, ICT procurement, and e-commerce and cloud-based services.

In the intellectual property space, Sean advises on licensing, research and development and collaboration arrangements, and the commercialisation and protection of IP assets.
