Marisa helps clients navigate civil and commercial disputes, particularly those that involve insolvency and restructuring. She has experience advising insolvency. She also works with clients on issues arising from commercial leases, land disputes, building disputes, and construction contracts.
Before joining McVeagh Fleming in 2022, Marisa spent six years working as an insolvency practitioner at a specialist insolvency practice, which gives her hands-on knowledge of how liquidations, receiverships, compromises, and other insolvency processes work. Prior to that, she worked on a range of civil and commercial litigation matters, including at a firm with a strong insurance practice.

Marisa has a couple of side hustles that keep her pretty busy outside of the office. She coaches adult swim squads and runs ocean swimming classes (yes, over winter too). She is also involved in a start-up wine company whose first vintage was 2022. She says it's a perfect landing spot for someone who is a wine geek at heart.
