2023 Ally Law Asia Pacific Regional Meeting a success

James Turner and Alissa Bell represented McVeagh Fleming at Ally Law's most recent Asia Pacific Regional Meeting held in Tokyo earlier this month. Drawing delegates from 15 firms and over 30 clients, it marked Ally Law's most substantial meeting in the Asia Pacific region to date.

The meeting aimed to strengthen connections among member law firms, enhancing our ability to deliver cost-effective legal services to clients with overseas legal needs, as well as providing the opportunity to exchange ideas and strategies and delve into some of the most pressing issues facing the legal sector today.

Over three days delegates engaged in thought-provoking roundtable and panel discussions exploring topics such as the legal and reputational risks associated with artificial intelligence; compliance complexities in various Asia Pacific jurisdictions, cross-border investments and mergers and acquisitions in the Asia Pacific.

As the exclusive New Zealand member of Ally Law’s global network, McVeagh Fleming maintains close relationships with Ally Law's 80 independent member firms across 61 countries, allowing us to offer our clients industry-specific knowledge, local business intelligence, and a global perspective.

Through our trusted Ally Law connections McVeagh Fleming can offer our clients legal assistance around the globe without the overheads associated with multinational legal firms.   From buying or selling property to labour and employment; litigation to mergers and acquisitions; administering estates to intellectual property and technology – whatever your legal issue, wherever in the world it takes you – we can help.

Hosted by Blakemore and Mitsuki, this Tokyo meeting followed Ally Law's successful Europe, Middle East, and Africa meeting in Milan last month and the Americas meeting in Columbus, Ohio, before that. Looking ahead, the organization's Annual General Meeting is scheduled for 15 May 2024, in Vancouver.
