About

Taufil advises clients on a wide range of legal matters including establishing new trusts or better manage existing trust structures, and all estate planning matters including wills and enduring powers of attorney. He also provides advice to clients relating to residential property, commercial property, subdivisions, retirement village occupation rights. He has a particular interest in the area of charitable trusts and the interplay between family trusts and charities. Taufil intends to focus on the specialist areas to assist clients reach their long-term goals.

Background

Having worked for a large law firm in the early 2000’s, a mid-size practice in West Auckland in the mid-2000’s and then run his own law firm from 2009 to 2022, Taufil decided to merge his practice to be able to focus on the key areas such as trusts, succession planning, asset & wealth protection, and elder law whilst providing advice on related areas such as property and business.

As a sole practitioner previously, Taufil has worked across a wide range of matters and appeared in the District Court as well as the High Court. He has acted as instructing solicitor on estate, wills and commercial disputes and so understands the complexities to assist clients navigate through their problems to find workable solutions.

Taufil enjoys martial arts. He helps and volunteers to teach children Karate at Lion Budokan Karate and acts as a mentor to kids passing through the ranks into confident and disciplined citizens. Taufil practices Budokan Karate and Seishin Kan Shorinji Ryu Okinawa Karate. He is a Regional Kata & Kumite Judge C, qualified via Karate New Zealand. He has also been involved in Not-for-Profit work over the years and currently serves on the Board of Belong Aotearoa.
