Kishen joined McVeagh Fleming in September 2016, having gained experience in complex building defects and construction litigation from a boutique dispute resolution firm.
Kishen has experience in a wide range of commercial disputes including insolvency, civil and commercial litigation, trust litigation, property and construction disputes, and contractual disputes. He also has experience in employment law having assisted in aspects of the Ports of Auckland industrial dispute. Kishen has appeared as counsel in the District Court and High Court, and has also appeared in the Employment Court.
In addition, Kishen has experience in criminal defence matters having previously worked for a leading Queen's Counsel assisting in preparation for appeals to the High Court and Court of Appeal, assisting in complex Coronial Inquests, and appearing at parole hearings.
Immediately after being admitted, Kishen gained experience in immigration and refugee law, and related human rights matters. He has appeared as counsel for clients in sentencing hearings, various refugee law matters, deportation hearings, and refugee and protection appeals in the Immigration and Protection Tribunal.
Outside of work, Kishen enjoys music, reading, football, cricket, and spending time with his family and friends.
